Reiterates concerns expressed in a previous letter that trustees of the seminary are purposely delaying any decision concerning the professorship vacated by Murdock. Assures E. R. that the faculty desires his return to Andover, and hints that if the trustees fill the present vacancy with someone else, then the faculty will press for the creation of a new position just for him. Refers to the "noble haul" of books E. R. shipped from Paris for Andover's library, but complains that several volumes arrived without maps. Submits Farrar's latest request for library books.
