Enclosed with the letter is an accounting of how the money is to be paid for the land, and includes the bonds and mortgage guarantees. Also included is a clarification of how a woman's share of the deeded parcel (i.e., Therese's joint ownership) is to be handled in the court. Letter contains an interesting postscript: "Dr. Davis informs me he shall retire from the Presidency of Ham. College in the course of the ensuing season. I am one of a committee of five on whom devolves the duty of recommending to the Board of Trustees a successor. Can you name a suitable person who is probably within our reach? This of course is said, at least to some extent, sub rosa."
