F-6 1828, Aug. 26 Letter to E. R. from Enoch Pond, Editor of the Spirit of the Pilgrims by Mr. Edwards of Boston. Informs E. R. that the published issues of the Spirit are being sent to Paris for him to read during the winter. He is also sending 4 additional sets to E. R. for distribution to Prof. Tholuck, Dr. Hahn of Leipzig, and 2 sets to be disposed of "at your discretion." Pond would like to receive similar works from the continent in exchange, or to open a correspondence with individuals for theological discussions. Invites E. R. to write him concerning "anything and everything which you may think it of importance to communicate."

F-6 1829, Jan. 30 Letter to E. R. from Charles Hodge in Princeton. Hodge describes his homeward journey from Halle by way of Bonn, Heidelberg, Basle, Geneva, Glasgow, London, and 37 days passage across the Atlantic. Mentions that the seminary has 113 students and that Andover Seminary is full with 130 students. Also gives him what news he has of the Andover faculty, namely of Murdock, Wisner, and Stuart. Tells him that the country is filled with temperance societies and religion is flourishing. He received a letter from Tholuck in Italy. Asks to be remembered to their mutual friends in Paris and looks forward to having E. R. and Therese visit his family.

F-6 1829, Nov. 3 Letter to E. R. from John Wheeler of Windsor, Vermont, written on board the ship "Boston" sailing from England to U.S. Apparently Wheeler had been with E. R. in Germany and en route home he visited England and Scotland. In this letter he encourages E. R. to do the same and gives him the names of numerous people he should meet and places to visit. He has a few interesting comments about faculty at Andover and about Prof. Tholuck.
