British marching through New Jersey, although Washington and Lee are delaying them. New York probably to be invaded soon. On the seas, the British ships are being intercepted and defeated with stores for the King's army.
B-2 1805, Nov. 2 Letter to E. R. in Southington from his sister (Naomi) Sophia in Lebanon, Ct. Mentions she will be sending her letter by way of the Governor [Trumbull] who is going to Hartford. Explains that she is busy knitting petticoats for herself and for Aunt Lydia. Says the meetinghouse is nearing completion. Also says an Indian is to be hung in Windham. [note: date inside the letter is Dec. 2, 1805.]
