1738, Nov. 10. Document. This is a certified copy of the decision of the Ecclesiastical Council which met at Duxbury, MA for the purpose of dismissing the Rev. John Robinson (1671-1745, great grandfather of E. R.) from his position as pastor of the Duxbury Church. E. R. came into possession of this document in 1856 and he reprints a complete transcription of it in his Memoir of the Rev. William Robinson, pp. 39-40.

F-6 1829, Nov. 3 Letter to E. R. from John Wheeler of Windsor, Vermont, written on board the ship "Boston" sailing from England to U.S. Apparently Wheeler had been with E. R. in Germany and en route home he visited England and Scotland. In this letter he encourages E. R. to do the same and gives him the names of numerous people he should meet and places to visit. He has a few interesting comments about faculty at Andover and about Prof. Tholuck.

N-1 1776, May 5 Private Covenant of William Robinson, in which he dedicates his life to God. At the end of this document, William Robinson has indicated the three additional steps he took to become an ordained minister: obtained certificate for full communion in Yale College Church (5 May 1776); was licensed to preach (29 May 1776); and preached first sermon (1 Sept. 1776).
