A-2 1817, April 11 "Mrs. Kirkland . . . to Bradner & Mainwarring" is at the heading of a bill totaling $23.65 for items purchased between April 13, 1816 and January 8, 1817. Items include mending shoes, 2 pair pumps Eliza, leather apron, 1 pair shoes self, etc. At the bottom of the bill is written: "Rec'd the above amount on settlement April 11, 1817, Bradner and Mainwarring."

A-2 1807, Dec. 28 Receipt signed by Eliza Kirkland for rent paid to her from the lessor, Josiah Simonds, for land originally leased by Samuel Kirkland to James Hinks in 1796 (see above). John Thornton Kirkland, Eliza's brother, acted as her attorney for these transactions.

A-1 1808, Dec. 24 Receipt for rent paid to Eliza Kirkland from Josiah Simonds, the lessor of 50 acres. Eliza mentions that the rent is "on a lease assigned by my father to me."; A-1 1796, June 29 Lease. Samuel Kirkland leased 50 acres to James Hinks for 8 pounds 8 shillings per annum, with an option to buy the land at 2 pounds 8 shillings. The option to buy was valid from October 1797 to October 1815. Document signed by Sam Kirkland. Appended to this document are three other transactions involving the same 50 acres dated as follows: 14 November 1815, 14 March 1816, and 7 August 1821. The last one involved E.R. For details of these three, see their respective dates below. From rent receipts (dated 1807, 1808, 1813 and listed below), it is clear that Hinks had transferred the lease to Josiah Simonds by 1807.

A-3 1819, April 20 Lease. Between E. R. and James Height in consideration of $50 rent for land, house and barn. E. R. will pay all taxes and furnish manure for the garden, will permit the picking of apples on the first row of trees, and if Height works for him, will apply that labor against the rent owed. A-3 1819, March 1 Deed: Edward Robinson and Eliza K. Robinson gave a quit-claim deed to Moses Bristoll, in consideration of $7,500. for land bounded by a lot formerly owned by John Niles, by the farm of John T. Kirkland, and by land owned by Bronson Foot.
A-2 1818, Sept. 14 "Articles of agreement" between E. R. and Samuel Farr of Clinton. executed with respect to the running of the farm. Farr agrees to do the work specified. E. R. is to provide "a comfortable dwelling house, and also a piece of land sufficient for a kitchen garden, fire wood for the use of Farr's family, and to furnish pasterage for one cow in the summer and hay for the same in the winter, allow Farr to retain one-tenth part of all produce of the farm, and in addition is to pay Farr the sum of $180. The agreement is good for one year, and requires notice of two months from either party if the agreement is to be terminated. The word "fulfilled" is written at the bottom of page two.

A-3 1821, July 31 Agreement between E. R. and Joseph Kirkland. "Whereas Joseph Kirkland has given me his Bond & Mortgage to secure the payment of $1,070. A-2 1818, Sept. 5 E. R. entered into an "obligation bond" with Nathaniel Griffin, agreeing to pay the sum of $1200. There was a conditional clause added which stated that the sum of $200 with interest be paid on the first day of October next and the further sum of $400 on the first day of January next with interest. If such was duly paid, then the obligation of the initial statement would be void. Robinson's signature has been ripped off the bottom of the bond, which was executed in the presence of E. Griffin. [The common bond form was printed by William Williams of Utica.]

A-3 1821, July 31 Joseph Kirkland, in the presence of Wm. Kirkland entered into an agreement with E. R. "In consideration of $400, I agree with Edward Robinson that I will pay & take up his note for $200 . . . and will further cause to be delivered to him the said Robinson a note given by him to John T. Kirkland of Cambridge . . .for $200, payable the first of Sept., 1823 without interest and also to give up a note which I hold against . . . Edward for about $70 or $80." On the reverse side of the agreement, E. R. writes: "Rec'd Aug. 13, 1821 of Joseph Kirkland my note for $77 dated May 20, 1819, payable to him . . . "

A-3 1819, May 15 Agreements (2) between Mary Kirkland and E. R. signed by the later in the presence of Charles Robinson. The first one states that "the following articles shall remain subject to future adjustment between them (viz.) the cider made in 1818, the chair and Harness, and the accounts of Joshua Kirkland, Russell Clark, Thomas Tracey, Josiah Bradner, & Joel Bristoll. The second one states that "the said Mary relinquishes & makes over to the said Edward during her natural life all her right to the dwellig house of the said parties except two rooms; & in consideration thereof the Edward engages to furnish her with firewood & all the other conveniences of living for herself & the friends who may call to see her, & also to have for her use a horse & chaise.
